I’m a writer, journalist, host, and content creator specializing in space, science, technology, and pop culture. I host my own space and science-focused YouTube channel, Ad Astra, and have over 40,000 followers on TikTok. This portfolio is a sample of the different types of work I’ve done.
I currently am a columnist at Wired writing about video games. I also contribute regularly to NPR and StarTrek.com. I was previously the host and writer of the PBS series Far Out and have appeared in numerous documentaries including Artemis: Back to the Moon, Looking for Leia, and more. I’ve also appeared on podcasts such as Science Friday, The Pod Directive, and Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and have been a panelist at SDCC, NYCC, AwesomeCon, and more.
I was previously a contributing writer at Engadget, where I worked on news and features, as well as covered big rocket launches in person. I wrote about all aspects of technology, after which I moved to an in-house content writing and strategy position at 1Password. I was also a contributing editor at SYFY.
My bylines include: Fast Company, The Verge, Vulture, Polygon, NPR, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, Space.com, Gizmodo, Oprah Magazine, The AV Club, Space.com, Shondaland, Mental Floss, Slate, New Scientist, Smithsonian Magazine, Collider, Bustle, Bitch Magazine, Newsweek Magazine, and more.
I wrote the book Stargazing: Contemplate the Cosmos to Find Inner Peace, out from Chronicle Books in August 2023. I’m the co-editor of an anthology of new Arthurian fiction called Sword Stone Table (Vintage Books, 2022). I also wrote the introduction for History Comics: The Challenger Disaster by Pranas T. Naujokaitis, which is out in late 2020 from First Second Books (Macmillan). Additionally, I co-host the pop culture podcast Desi Geek Girls.
